Hello there! If you are new here, you might want to Grab the RSS feed for updates on this topic.

I bet you didn’t know that

Social Bookmarking

was so important.

If you are familiar with my blog you’ll notice that I write about pretty much anything that has to do with information that can help an online business owner.

I try not to shy away from certain topics that I have to admit I know a little about. I believe the only real way to learn is by applying the method “learn as you go“.

A method that us firefighters use when things get rough. One such topic I haven’t covered yet and hope to give it justice is Social Bookmarking.

I use Social Bookmarking all the time and have to admit that after researching about it, I have a better understanding of how powerful it is.

For starters, Social Bookmarking has been around since 1996. A  company called ItList.com launched it. It quickly became  popular because of its ability to build relevant links, drive traffic to websites and create new customers that all businesses wanted.

The part I like best about it is that it allows you to store your bookmark or tag onto a network instead of using your computer’s web browser.

So what is Social Bookmarking?

Social Bookmarking is a way to locate, store and share files and data on websites. Whether you are an online  user or a registered user, bookmarking enables you to store any web link you want.

The bookmarked links are then available for others to see and share as well. This will build your following and increase your page view. Most of all, search engines digg this stuff.

How to use Social Bookmarking as

a Marketing tool.

Bookmarking sites like  Del.icio.us, Digg, StumbleUpon to name a few, are some of the most popular online social bookmarking networks.

They hold a plethora of data and information that all can share and they can be a tremendous help in building an online marketing network.

Using one or all three will be decided by you. Research and find out which bookmarking network is big enough and provides the best service for it’s registered users.

Obviously, going with the most popular service will ensure a large section of online readers and customers.  Remember, the benefit of being a registered user is then the  social bookmarking site will provide a trail through back links to visitors so that they can find their way directly to your business site.

I found the perfect video for you to understand all that I wrote. The example in this video is the Social Bookmarking site called Del.icio.us

Dedicated to you success!
