List Building 101 – Traffic Generating Tricks

Traffic to ones website or squeeze page can come from many sources. Amongst these are article writing, social networking, bookmarking and paying for advertising such as pay per click.
Though the above methods work well, it may behoove you to consider some other methods that, believe it or not, are not often used.
So to keep this post short and sweet, see if any of these tricks work for you.
Traffic Generating Tricks.

1) Set up a pop-up
Set up a pop-up on your blog. Your AWeber autoresponders have pre-written code for pop-ups.You simply copy and paste this code into your wordpress blog into the Footer of your blog template.
2) Try a joint venture
JV with another Internet marketer to promote each other’s free gifts and drive traffic through to squeeze pages. Using somebody else’s opt-in list to help drive traffic through to your sign-up page can be extremely successful in terms of quickly increasing your opt-in list numbers.
3) Podcast
Use multimedia to generate a different but just as effective message to entice visitors to your sign-up page. A podcast of a telephone or skype interview of a well known personality can create a hype about the free gift being offered.
Some internet marketers invite guests to be interviewed and use these interviews to promote their opt-in gift. A series of interviews or just one may provide a different approach and could be most effective.
4) Webinar
Webinars are like open seminars via the internet, discuss the topic covered in your free gift and encourage listeners to contribute questions and queries that you answer.
A webinar may be effective if run by one person, but two people discussing a point and offering suggestions often works even better as two people can create a more powerful dynamic. More than two usually doesn’t work too well as the voices can start getting too confusing and people don’t know after a while who is actually speaking.
5) Video
Video’s are being used more and more. You can create one video with your message. Or you can use some of the content of your free gift to provide information to the viewer in a series of videos. This can be a very effective marketing tool.
Use the videos to demonstrate some of the interesting information contained in your free gift. It will make viewers curious to see the rest of the product and entice them to your squeeze page.
Videos may be uploaded to your blog or included in your Squidoo lens. You can set up your own channel on YouTube. At the same time you can submit your videos to other video sharing sites of which there are many.
Remember to use your keywords to tag your content, in captions and your headlines. These particular elements can add up to a fair amount of publicity for your free gift.
If handled correctly they start appearing on search pages and finally can end up on the front page of Google. This means that they start to send traffic through without any further effort on your part.
