As a network marketer with a limited marketing budget it is important to understand the benefits of article writing and what it could do for you and your business.

Since not  much research is out there to determine a true value of  an article, you don’t need to be a rocket scientist understand that a well written article can provide many potential leads and customers to your business for a long time.

Article writing is free and totally self expressive with the only bias being that if your article is relevant to the reader you are rewarded. A poorly written, irrelevant article will be unnoticed and will disappear into the sea of the Internet. Need I say more?

A simple rule I have is that you should not write for the sake of putting out information. Write articles that make the reader want more. If your article is of good quality, that person will most likely remember you and if you are lucky, subscribe or follow you.

So to get the ball rolling and get you to start writing articles of your own, I have included some tips or considerations that I feel will help get your article read and noticed by search engine spiders.

Article writing tips.

1) Do not plagiarize.

Though researching for an article is totally acceptable it is not cool to copy word for word someones information. Make your article your own and do your best to have unique content.

It is also recommended that you be the true writer. Many established network marketers  outsource and hire ghost writers. Though there are many article writing software and article writing services, I feel  you will build more credibility if you are the source of the information.

2) Make your article title draw in the reader.

Have a keyword or keyword phrase in your title that relates directly to the article. This will then want the reader to further read your article. This also will help the search engines index your article faster.

3)Your article must be rich in relevant content.

A web surfer will not stick around if you don’t make it worth their time. Position  yourself as an MLM  leader and write articles that are of a  “teaching” position.

Being an authority on a particular subject will really make you a hot commodity. Some suggest that you find a certain niche and become an expert at it.

4) Keep your reader engaged

Keep your article simple by addressing one particular subject. Don’t jump around from topic to topic. An article that is short and to the point; providing solutions for the readers will help your “page rank“.

5) Your article must include keywords.

SEO must be part of your article. Adding keywords and keyword phrases along with anchor text will attract search engine spiders to your article. It is important that this done naturally so that the search engines don’t penalize you for overloading your article with keyword density.

6) Promote your article.

Article directories are a major source to promote your article over the web. Blast your article on every article directory that you can. This will help increase your reach to users online. My two favorite are Ezine and Squidoo.

7) Have inbound  or back links.

When generating inbound links , its a good idea to get inbound links from a website that has a “page rank” equal to or higher than yours.

There was a time I would dread the thought that I would have to have to write an article. Today, after writing so many, it has become part of my routine to write at least one article a week. Yes, it does take some time, but like I said earlier it is worth the effort.
