Better Late Then Never…Happy Birthday Internet?

On September 2, 1969, scientists at the University of
Los Angeles (UCLA), connected two computers with
a 15ft grey cable that were able to communicate with
each other.
Happy Birthday Internet or should I say Happy Anniversary to Al Gore for inventing it.
Though the actual date of the Internets Birthday is in question, it is obvious that there were many a days that gave birth to knew ideas that accumulated into what we know as the Internet.
Starting from the early sixties with an MIT professor writing a book about paper switching technology…the seventies with the advent of essential Internet milestones like e-mail…transitioning into the eighties with the switch from Network Control Protocol to Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Protocol…to what we know it as today the Internet protocol….
The Internet should be considered
one of the 7 wonders of
the world!
It never ceases to amaze me what the Internet is capable of doing. For this reason I would like to acknowledge the internet by saying Happy Birthday Internet (whatever day it is) and may you have many more.
Enjoy this short video on the history of the internet.
Sing with me …For he’s a jolly good fellow!
