To Whom Should I Blog To?

To whom should you blog?
Search engines or the reader?
Ok. here is one for you. I have been blogging now for about 6 months and have been told from day 1 that my blog should primarily focus on good content that is SEO friendly.
If you blog as well, then you should know by now that blog content is always king and with content rich posts comes the eventual higher search engine rankings.
Since this is standard across the board, what I have been battling with is when I write a post , to whom am I writing my content to.
Should I be more concerned about the blog reader or should I be more concerned about the search engines that lead the readers to my post.
The reason why I bring up this topic is because I often visit other people’s blogs and look at their page ranking.
I sometimes come across a blog that is perfectly written, has all the bells and whistles and comes across as a blog that, in my opinion, should have an acceptable page rank.
When the page ranking is low, it is then that I start to wonder.
What is missing from the blog?
Is the blog lacking a primary audience?
Is the blog lacking back links?
Does the blog have the appropriate plugins?
Whatever the reason may be, I am beside myself as to why the owner of the blog would settle for such a poor page rank. Aren’t they blogging for the same reason that I am?
Whatever reasons they may have, there are a lot of successful bloggers out there that claim that they have had better success with writing good content with very little regard to SEO.
So one has to imagine how much better their blog would
be if they did include SEO.
As for myself, with the help from my mentor Cenay Nailor, this blog has been set up to have all the necessary plugins that attract the search engines and it is because of this reason that I feel I have been hovering at an exceptable page ranking.
I would not consider myself a great writer so I need all the help I can get. What I do know is that when I do blog, I take in consideration some basic SEO guidelines.
Here are some SEO
guidelines I follow.
1) I always have keyword relevance in my title and subtitle
2) I make sure that I am not over the keyword density percentage. It should not be more than 2%of the word count.
3) Meta tags and descriptions should accurately reflect what I am writing about.
Taking consideration all of these basic SEO guidelines ensures me that my content has a better chance of receiving higher page rank.
On the other hand,I try not to exclude the fact that I am writing to a human being and know that it is this balance between the reader and the search engines that both will help my blog ranking.
I would like to know what you think should come first. The reader or the search engines. Please do not be shy, please reply to this post.
Dedicated to your success!

First and foremost, you should write to humans. Getting a page rank and a 1000 visitors a day does you no good if they take one look at your content and scram.
Having said that, you know I also believe in the value of ALSO writing to the search engines. Sometimes the balance is a little hard to find, but it’s worth the time and trouble.
For example…I keep a list of my primary keywords on hand (those I am trying to rank for since these are the words my target market is using when searching). I write the article for a human being. Period. Then I review the article with the keywords in mind. I might add one or two, or change a word I used.
Remember Google understands semantics, and so do humans. For example… car verses automobile. Google understands they are the same thing. So I can use a semantically related word and still get traffic.
You are 100% correct about the importance of the title and your keywords being there…as well as your description.
(BTW – your blog is really coming along Willie, great job!)

Cenay,
I am in the belief the the human should come first. But I am also in the belief that I must optimize my post/blog so that the human can have the chance to read it.
…a balancing act that is worth the trouble.
Thank you so much for dropping by and leaving an awesome comment.
I am honored.
